Our Exciting Story on how we became Family
It all began in the year 1963 when Harold and Virginia Hoff opened the doors of Stony Mountain Campground. Situated on a 57-acre wooded parcel at the foot of a mountain, the campground has grown over the years to become a beloved destination for families and friends seeking an outdoor escape. Through the decades, countless memories have been made at this special place. Whether it's a weekend getaway, a group retreat, or an extended stay. Since its inception, the campground has been a beacon of adventure, relaxation, and community spirit. Our story begins back in the year 2008 when our family decided to embark on a journey we never thought would make the memories and family we have today. We had no clue on how to even run a campground, we had gone camping a lot in our lifetime but to actually have a camp to call our own and run was a diffrent story. The number one thing we wanted was an old fashioned camping experience where everyone who entered our property was family.
2008 we purchased Stony Mountain Campground two weeks before the season ended. Fast forward to the begining of the 2009 season. This was a big year for us, a year of the unknown and many changes. The first step was transforming Stony Mountain Campground into Stony Mountain Family Campground. You may think its just a name but to us it was the begining of our journey. Over the years we have transformed this campground that was built in 1963 to a more modernized campground, all while bringing nature back to all of us that have succumbed to this fast paced world of tecnology. We have updated all of our electrical sites to 20, 30 , and 50 amp services. Some select sites have sewer as well. Our camp has gotten a facelift in order to accomidate everyones needs as the world grows. A new playground was constructed down by Kaleb's pond which was also totaly drained and cleaned out. Due to our swimming pond being cleaned out and absoloutely no fishing in it we are also able to put our aquatic equipment out on the pond. We have also built and installed 2 Pavilions one at the lake, as well as one by our swimming pond. Both facilities as well as our lodge we rent out to guests to enjoy with there friends and family for special occasions. For over sixteen years, we have been helping people make lasting memories at our campground. Children of all ages have honed their skills in biking and swimming, discovering new passions and building lifelong friendships. From families uniting to friends meeting for the first time, the campground has watched as relationships grow over the years. To ensure the experiences our guests receive are the best they can be, we have continually made improvements and renovations to the grounds. Our commitment to providing exceptional services has made us a go-to spot for a fun, memorable vacation..
